Matting Contract
According to the Animal Welfare Act 2006, all matted coats will be clipped off. Paws Perfect will always look to prioritise you dog's welfare and safety and will not inflict excessive stress or discomfort to your dog whilst they are in our care.

Matting can cause a multitude of different health and welfare issues including, but not limited to, pain, skin irritation, ruising, sores, infection, etc. The act of brushing out excessive matting for any length of time is therefore not consider a humane practise. The removal of matting means we have to use a blade length that goes beneath the matting, in some circumstances this can leave the coat as short as 1.2mm depending on severity of the matting present. Attempting a longer length can again cause discomfort and potentially injury.
We recommend owners check the skin regularly following a groom as it possible to uncover potential issues that have been hidden under the matted hair.
By signing this contract you, the owner, are agreeing that your dogs coat is matting will be clipped short and that Paws Perfect cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effect of matt clipping uncovered on a matted coat. This could include, but is not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abradsions from excessive rubbing/chewing.
Please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog's skin could be nicked with the clippers as we have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it. Although we will try our utmost to prevent this, by signing this contract you are agreeing that Paws Perfect will not be held liable for any injury or accident involving the removal of matting.

I understand and agree to all of the above and that Paws Perfect will be shaving my dog to remove matting.
